Wood Hatton Playcentre is a parent-led cooperative Early Childhood Education (ECE) facility. Our aim is to provide quality early learning education for the children who attend.

Our centre believes that parents are the first and best educators of their children and children learn best when they initiate their learning through play (child-initiated play). Within the centres children and adults learn alongside each other, in agreement with the socio-cultural model of learning which posits that a child learns best when surrounded by trusted members of his or her community.

We are open to all members of our community and do our best to provide high quality and diverse education, experiences and also community and family support.

We embrace and are guided by the principles of Whakamana (Empowerment), Manaakitanga (respect & care), Kotahitanga (Holistic development), Whanau Tangata (Family & Community).
