The purpose of Waipahihi Marae is to, 1. Uphold and embrace the Mana and Tikanga of Waipahihi Marae. 2. Promote the care and protection of Ngāti Hineure and Ngāti Hinerau 3. Promote awareness, enhance, preserve and safeguard the environment for present and future generations. 4. Create profitable, sustainable, economic and social opportunities for present and future generations. 5. Ensure the owners and beneficiaries are kept informed and adhere to compliance to legislation Section 7 of the Māori Reservations Legislation Act 1994. 6. Build and maintain the physical structures that enables the owners and beneficiaries to meet together for Hui a Hapu, Tangihanga, Karakia, Hui a Tau and Wananga.
