Waikato Compassion Meditation Trust's main goals are;

• To fulfil the aspirations of New Zealand Buddhists to achieve their religious, educational, cultural, environmental and social needs to function as good and productive citizens of New Zealand.

• To teach and promote meditation for the well-being of all people

• To implement leadership and personal development programmes

• To set up a resource centre in the form of a multimedia library

• To conduct Sunday Dhamma School for children to achieve their goals through Buddhist teachings, language and culture to help them in their day-to-day lives

• To foster fellowship among the wider community

• To initiate and encourage social welfare and charitable work for the upliftment of the community and the relief of suffering

• To organize and implement projects and, if necessary, give assistance and support in times of grief, crisis and difficulties, to maintain peace, unity and solidarity with all beings
