The purposes and aims of the Trust are to devote or apply both capital and income of the Trust Fund to or for any charitable purposes inside and outside New Zealand.

The purposes outside of New Zealand referred are: The relief of poverty, hunger, sickness or the ravages of war or natural disaster; or The development of the economy of developing countries (recognised as such by the United Nations) ("Developing countries"); or Raising education standards of Developing Countries.
