Tu Maia

The purpose of Tu Maia is to facilitate carving of a taonga pounamu for every tamariki (child) in state care in Aotearoa New Zealand in order to provide every tamariki in state care with a sense of belonging and give visible recognition to the aroha (love) that every tamariki deserves. The purpose is also to conduct carving wananga (teaching) to community in order to provide a taonga pounamu to every child in state care in Aotearoa New Zealand.
