Under the 1885 Act, the Trustees are the legal entity in which the property of congregations and presbyteries situated north of the Waitaki River is vested. Property includes land, buildings, and financial assets, such as cash and investments (but excludes congregational funds). Financial assets are amalgamated in the Presbyterian Investment Fund established by the Presbyterian Church Property Trustees Empowering Act 1957.
