The purpose of the trust is for making of grants by the trustees in or toward such approved charitable purpose or purposes within the Provincial District of Auckland as the trustees may, from time to time, in their absolute discretion select. The settlors advised the trustees, but without placing any legal obligations on them for so doing, that it was the settlors desire that grants primarily be applied for the benefit of the residents at the Caughey Preston Home, Upland Road, Remuera. The Caughey Preston Home in Upland Road, Remuera has now closed so the focus of this trust will change to care of the aged and research into ageing issues.
