To work in conjuction with wahine, tamariki and whanau in establishing and promoting services and facilities within the community that will: a) advance the wellbeing of families b) prevent persons from suffering harm, ill treatment, abuse, neglect or deprivation c) relieve poverty and distress amongst families d) generally assist to provide a healthy and safe environment for persons suffering distress or deprivation
