About Te Whanau O Awataha Trust
The purposes of the Trust is to benefit, by direct and indirect means, the Maori people and the people of New Zealand by delivering purposes beneficial to Maori in the District, such purpose to be pursued by pursuing the following objects (subject to clause 5.3) by:
(a) promoting and improving the spiritual understanding and the well-being of the District by advancing the teaching of tikanga and Te Ao Maori. The spiritual activity of the Trust will express the Maori concepts of tinana (body), hinengaro (mind), wairua (spirit) and whanau (kinship). The guiding principle will be "aroha ki te tangata" or "love and care for all peopl" which will in turn help propagate tikanga Maori; (b) promoting and developing for the benefit of Maori and non-Maori: (i) Te Mauri Pakeaka (ii) Mana motuhake, the mana and authority of our beneficiaries; (iii) Kaitiakitanga, the stewardship of the resources of the Marae for future generations; (iv) Manaakitanga, the expression of mana
