Over the past 30 years Radio Tainui has demonstrated a commitment as a leading communication provider to people living within our broadcast footprint that reaches out to Kaawhia on the west coast, Hauraki, Tauranga moana on the east coast, north to the Bombays and south to Te Kuiti specifically targeting a maaori audience with a primary demographic of 20 – 35yrs, and secondary demographic which reaches down to 15yrs and up to 55yrs, catering to maaori language speakers of varying proficiencies. Our primary objective is to promote Te Reo Māori me ona Tikanga with a Tainui perspective through innovative programming, with an emphasis on right shifting people along the language continuum ie: encouraging everyone with language skills no matter how little, to use the language all day every day.
