The ultimate objective of Te Kōhanga Reo o Te Taurere is the rebirth of Māori as an equal but separate element of New Zealand society. The Kaupapa of Te Kōhanga Reo is the education for life and covers cultural, social, economic and educational aspects. Te Kōhanga Reo o Te Taurere aims to reaffirm Māori culture through whānau development, restoring Māori Rangatiratanga. It aims to achieve this goal through the organization of the Kōhanga Reo on a whānau model.
