For the benefit of the public and not for private profit, and in particular for charitable purposes to benefit Te Arawa whanau whanui, hapu, iwi, marae and also the local and wider community and nation. Exclusively Charitable Purposes: to promote and enhance the historic and contemporary significance of Te Arawa nautical traditions at the centre of which is waka; through education, protection and honouring of traditional and cultural knowledge and practices, protection and preservation of Waka as culturally Important taonga and maintaining critical relationships to respect those with the knowledge, skill and contribution to keep our taonga in pristine condition.
