Tawa Foundation Trust

Tawa Foundation is a Māori organisation based in Ōtautahi, created to address high recidivism rates and poor whānau outcomes for tāne and wāhine leaving prison. This includes a targeted response to the lack of effective and culturally appropriate services for reintegration and bail support that are currently available in the area. Established in July 2023, Tawa Foundation provides one-to-one support for men and women as well as their whānau as they reintegrate back into society.
