The Taumarunui Youth and Community Trust (TYCT) was est in 2016 as a registered charitable trust dedicated to strengthening the wellbeing of the Taumarunui community. Our purpose is to create, facilitate, and support opportunities that empower tamariki, rangatahi, whānau, and people of all ages to participate, connect, learn, and thrive. We achieve this by delivering and supporting sporting, recreational, educational, cultural, health, leadership, and community development initiatives that improve social, physical, and emotional wellbeing. TYCT works collaboratively with schools, iwi, community organisations, local government, volunteers, businesses, and other partners to reduce barriers to participation, build community capability, strengthen local organisations, and create sustainable opportunities that foster inclusion, resilience, leadership, and lifelong participation. Through community-led programmes, events, funding support, volunteer development, and strategic partnership.
