About Taranaki Volunteer Coastguard Service Incorporated
Coastguard Taranaki's mission is to be the "go to" people for marine safety, education and search and rescue pservices.
We do this by using trained Volunteers to provide a 24/7 marine search and rescue capability as well as non urgent assistance to all boaties at sea in the coastal waters off the North Taranaki coast (Awakino to Cape Egmont).
The Unit recruits, trains and supports its Volunteers to comply with Maritime NZ and Coastguard NZ minimum rescue vessel crewing requirements, to provide a daily marine VHF radio service and to meet our non operational needs in managing our Unit.
