The purpose of the Trust is to promote and facilitate adoption of greyhounds, as pets.

The Trust is committed, in attaining its purpose, to:

Assessing, selecting and preparing greyhounds that are no longer wanted for racing or breeding purposes, for adoption; this includes ensuring that all greyhounds entering the adoption programme have had a health check and are de-sexed, vaccinated, de- wormed, registered and microchipped prior to being adopted.

Finding foster homes for greyhounds that are accepted into the adoption programme to live in as pets, until they are adopted; this includes assessing potential foster carers and their accommodation for suitability.

Finding suitable homes for greyhounds to live in as pets; this includes assessing potential adopters and their accommodation for suitability.

Promoting, within New Zealand and particularly in Southland, the humane care of unwanted greyhounds.
