About Rule Foundation

The Rule Foundation is a charity concerned with the welfare, wellbeing and health of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) people in New Zealand.

We have two funds, in 2019 we created the Rainbow Wellbeing Legacy Fund which joined our original Peter Rule Fund. The Rainbow Wellbeing Legacy fund was founded in 2019 through a $1 million endowment from the New Zealand Government in recognition of the men who were convicted for consensual homosexual activities pre-1986. The focus of this fund is to support activities that focus on improving mental health outcomes for future generations of rainbow communities, especially young people.

The Peter Rule Fund gives funds to groups and individuals who provide support services or community activities for LGBTI people, or who undertake education and research on LGBTI issues.
