About Queen's Redoubt Trust Board
The purposes of the trust are as follows: (a) to acquire, preserve, develop (as appropriate) and maintain for the benefit of the public all or such part or parts of that piece of rural land situated in the Land Registration District of North Auckland near the Township of Pokeno, and more particularly described in the Schedule of Lands to this deed, as the Board shall identify as being of historical interest with particular reference to the New Zealand wars between Maori and the Europeans (such lands as the Board shall so identify being subsequently in this deed described variously as ‘Queen’s Redoubt’ and “the Redoubt”);
(b) to make Queen’s Redoubt accessible to the public by development of the Redoubt grounds as appropriate;
(c) to promote education about the Queen’s Redoubt and the New Zealand Wars between Maori and Europeans.
