About Port Waikato Community Health and Support Services Trust
The purpose of the trust is to provide free Marae and community based health, welfare and employment support services that will contribute to the long term well being of both tangata whenua and tauiwi of Port Waikato and surrounding rural districts. Trust will: Advance educational and recreational programs for individuals, family/whanau in the areas of health, parenting skills, employment, social services, housing etc. Will promote, organize and manage such amenities and facilities which are residential, educational, social, cultural or business. Will benefit the community by maximizing participation of Maori and local communities in planning and decision making. Will encourage partnering initiatives with other non profit organizations, local and central government sectors to engage in the development, implementation and ongoing support of professional services to meet local identified needs. Will act in accordance with kiaitiaktanga principles in order to protect the environment.
