About Pompallier Hokianga Trust
The Pompallier Hokianga Trust preserves and promotes the memory and mission of the first Catholic Bishop of Aotearoa NZ, Jean Baptiste, Francois Pompallier (1801-1871). Since the return of the Bishop's remains in 2002, the Trust promotes visits and pilgrimages to the three sites associated with the Bishop, namely, Tōtara Point, Motuti and Pūrākau. It also maintains and aims to develop these three sites.
