The Society is established and maintained exclusively for charitable purposes (including any purposes ancillary to those charitable purposes), namely: • benefiting the community by promoting and stimulating the production, distribution and consumption of local food; advancing knowledge about sustainable practices, and the building of healthy, resilient and connected communities so people and the environment flourish. • These purposes will be achieved by facilitating and engaging in local and regional networks; leading and supporting initiatives such as events, workshops and programmes for education. • The society shall encourage policies and practices that reflect New Zealand’s cultural diversity and in particular consider the articles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
