About Otaahuhu Marae

4.4 Guiding Objective: In general, the Trustees shall decide on all matters affecting the Marae, including the amenities, the buildings and activities. The Trustees shall encourage all descendants and whanau to adhere to the values and traditions handed down by our Tupuna and uphold the principles of manaakitanga and Tikanga Māori. In keeping with these principles, all activities on the Marae will follow the tikanga and the kawa of the Marae. The Trustees will promote the following objectives: 4.4.1 Promote the use of te reo Māori; 4.4.2 Encourage the tikanga, wairua, ahuatanga Māori of those that participate in the Marae; 4.4.3 Manaaki manuhiri according to tikanga; 4.4.4 Seek and respect the guidance of Kaumatua; 4.4.5 Advance, encourage and support the interests of all beneficiaries, without prejudice; 4.4.6 Uphold and maintain whanaungatanga as prescribed by our tīpuna; 4.4.7 Ensure all buildings, assets and grounds encompassed within the Reservation are respected and maintained
