The Society is established and maintained exclusively for charitable purposes (including any purposes ancillary to those charitable purposes, namely with a Kaupapa Maori focus on Marae affiliation with iwi and hapu to support communities achieve positive outcomes for Maori. To respect the kawa of Tainui which is the kawa of the Society/Nga Whare Waatea Inc upholds and follows in its daily activities. Through te reo irirangi (the radio talk back programmes) to empower whanau and community to research, discuss and wananga the issues and achievements of the day shared on the radio that will grow tangata, whanau and community in their mana ake (uniqueness) and to ensure Nga Whare Waatea Marae remains as the heart of our community as we continue to provide free classes to foster whanau connectedness to te reo me ona tikanga within the confort of our supportive Marae environment.
