About Nga Mana Toopu O Kirikiriroa Charitable Trust Board
PURPOSE • to benefit the whanau of Ngati Wairere • to educate the whanau of Ngati Wairere and • to exercise “Kaitiakitanga” and “Manawhenua”. MISSION STATEMENT: To educate and empower our people within contemporary legislation, viz the exercising of Kaitiakitanga and Manawhenua (Article 2 of the Treaty of Waitangi, Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga Act, Resource Management Act, Local Government Act, Te Terwhenua Act). In practical terms, Nga Mana Toopu O Kirikiriroa (NAMTOK) aims to achieve and promotes rangatahi whanau education to revive, commemorate and promote whakapapa, the cultural and historical knowledge founded on sound research, to cement the enduring manawhenua of Ngati Wairere and its sub tribes over the rohe of Kirikiriroa. Whakapapa, Kawa, Tikanga and Kaitiakitanga bind the fabric together for any Maori Iwi or Hapu. NAMTOK is primarily concerned with promoting these cornerstone Maori values for manawhenua hapu Ngati Wairere, and waka Tainui.
