About New Zealand Sri Lanka Buddhist Trust
1. To fulfil the aspirations of New Zealand Buddhists of Sri Lankan origin to achieve their religious, educational, cultural environmental and social needs. The trust recognises that the above fulfilment is essential for Sri Lankan Buddhists to function as good and productive citizens of New Zealand. 2. To protect and maintain Theravada Buddhist traditions and Sri Lankan Sinhalese cultural values. 3. To organise and implement projects to maintain peace, unity and solidarity and friendship to all humankind 4. To assist and support Buddhists of Sri Lankan origin mainly living in New Zealand in times of grief, crises and difficulties. These services can also be extended to Sri Lanka in the event of emergency and needy situations within the guidelines of IRD. 5.
