About New Zealand College of Midwives Central Region
The purpose of the New Zealand College of Midwives Central Region is to promote and enhance the profession of Midwifery in the Central Region by upholding the philosophy of the New Zealand College of Midwives (Inc). Actively participate in issues relating to midwifery within the region, liaising with consumer groups and allied health professionals, promoting and providing regional midwifery education and research to enhance midwifery care for women/wahine, babies/pepi and families/whanau. We promote biculturalism in Midwifery by recognising Maori as tangata whenua of Aotearoa and aim to honour and protect the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi/the Treaty of Waitangi.
