To provide education and social development of pre-school children and younger children by operating early childcare centres in local communities; To minimize the impact of poor early childcare and education in the development of pre-schoolers and young children through the provision of a range of co-ordinated social and educational services of a generic and specialist nature for children and their families; To work with community leaders, including Pasifika and Maori, on identifying the needs of vulnerable children and thier families, both in social and educational contexts, and collaborating to find strategies for addressing such needs in a cohesive and coordinated manner; To create community awareness at a national level of the nature, role and importance of caring and supportive social environments for developing the emotional and social welfare of children and further supporting such development with nurturing early childcare and early educational programs
