About Metonymic Trust

The purpose of the Trust is to produce and distribute recordings by New Zealand experimental musicians and sound artists and to organise projects and festivals which present this music to a wider community. The Trust aims to provide education and traning by organising workshops and lectures on the history, theory and practice of experimental music and its application to the modern environment. The Trust wants to work co-operatively with other community arts organisations to increase public awareness of non-mainstream music. The trust aims to provide employment opportunities for local experimental musicians, visual artists, and filmmakers. The trust will always be charitable in nature, returning all profits from activity to future projects in accordance with these goals.
