About Meonah Charitable Trust

Meonah Charitable Trust was established in 1982 to provide a refuge ministry through provision of holiday accommodation to those in need of recreation but unable to afford a quality beach based retreat. "Meonah" is Hebrew for "Place of Refuge". Currently the trust has one holiday house situated in Omaha. The house has been refurbished recently and provides very comfortable accommodation for a range of couples, families and groups. The house is in high demand with weekend bookings up to 6 months in advance. The trust is considering purchasing a second property. In the past few years the refuge ministry has been extended to include a home for teenage girls referred under a service contract with Child Youth and Family Services. This ministry has been rewarding and catered for up to 6 teenage girls in a property owned by the trust. This operation closed on 11 March 2016 with the retirement of the primary caregiver.
