Massey Matters Incorporated

Massey Matters is a Community Development organisation that has been serving Massey since 2005. It began as a Council Initiative to build and strengthen community activity and networks and sense of local identity and pride. Many of the issues identified as contributing to social problems then, still exist today; such as inadequate infrastructure. As Waitakere's largest suburb Massey has a sprawling geography and large population. The region was identified as a 'growth area' in Auckland Council's long term plan which will see housing and population increase over the coming years. Our mission is to provide a local framework to create a change, find solutions and achieve aspirations. Our delivery process aligns with the Empowering Communities model used by Auckland Council.
