Purpose/Aims

2.1 Education – Wānanga i. To support the development and delivery of educational programmes in culturally appropriate settings (e.g. marae, natural landscapes), grounded in te Ao Māori. ii. To facilitate intergenerational learning led by kaumātua, kuia, and pakeke- learning “at the knee” iii. To address foundational lifeskills for isolated and underserved Māori youth.

2.2 Environment – Te Taiao i. To support the restoration and protections of indigenous landscapes, including wetlands on Māori land. ii. To re-establish pā harakeke and native flora (e.g. pīngao, tī kōuka, raupō, ūta) used in traditional practices. iii. To establish and maintain rongoā gardens that preserve and share mātauranga about native medicinal plants.
