To: Celebrate and promote heritage for education. Promote retention of living heritage and advocate for training in associated skills. Foster goodwill and co-operation between heritage interests and increase skill base in heritage protection and management. Promote opportunities for heritage research and increase accessibility of that knowledge. Raise the profile and increase public awareness of heritage interests and activities. Ensure the Southland Oral History Project remains sustainable and maintain core activities of an annual Heritage Month including events based calendar and workshops/training opportunities for the heritage community, and similar events throughout the year.
