CNZ is a national charitable organisation that has been supporting people with coeliac disease(CD)for over 50 years to improved health and wellbeing. International research indicates there could be 100,000 people in NZ with CD 30,000 likely to be children, with many unaware they have the condition.

Coeliac New Zealand’s mahi aims to improve the wellbeing of people of all ages living with coeliac disease—a serious autoimmune condition that affects an estimated 100,000 New Zealanders, including around 30,000 children. Our work empowers individuals and whānau to manage the lifelong challenges of a strict gluten-free diet, which is currently the only treatment. We provide trusted information, practical tools, and community support to reduce the burden of diagnosis, dietary management, and social exclusion. Our goal is to ensure people with coeliac disease can thrive at school, work, and in everyday life—feeling safe, informed, and included.
