Bowel Cancer Foundation Trust

The Charity is strongly committed to raising the awareness of Bowel Cancer within NZ and to assist the early detection, treatment and rehabilitation of the disease. The Foundation believes more complimentary procedures are needed to reduce colonoscopy waiting lists and our research programmes are directed towards this goal and helping to provide better patient outcomes. Bowel cancer is the most diagnosed cancer here in New Zealand with over 3,000 people diagnosed each year. 90% of bowel cancers can be prevented if we catch it early enough by screening at an earlier age, and rehabilitating cancer patients to reduce secondary bowel cancer and other secondary diseases such as heart disease, obesity, stroke and diabetes. Bowel Cancer Foundation Trust provides screening, rehabilitation research and help with treatment for those who do not qualify in the public system to detect bowel cancer early and help save lives. Our research programmes have been designed to compliment these areas.
