Apakura Runanga Trust Board

The purpose of the Trust is to: a) advance and promote the health and wellbeing of Ngāti Apakura; b) advance and promote Ngāti Apakura knowledge, history and tikanga; c) work to relieve the damage caused by te pāhuatanga committed by the Crown against non-combatants at Rangiaowhia, and the consequent diaspora, dispossession, poverty and displacement of Ngāti Apakura that followed; d) advance and promote Ngāti Apakura kaitiakitanga in respect of te taiao, including te takutai moana; e) promote the preserve places of Ngāti Apakura cultural and historic interest; f) promote the development of the Ngāti Apakura Register; and g) advance and promote the charitable needs of Ngāti Apakura.
