About Zero Carbon Daviot

The Organisation's main purpose is to enter into dialogue with as many members of our community as possible on climate change, in a meaningful way that will allow each person to make their own decisions on what must to be done to reduce the risk of global warming. The Organisation's aims are to: 1. Create a highly energy-conscious community with an understanding of the consequences of carbon emissions and what we each must do to reduce the carbon footprint of our community. 2. Enter into dialogue with all members of our community of all backgrounds, (regardless of their age, ethnicity, race, colour, abilities, religion, socio-economic status, culture, sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity) on climate change in a meaningful way, that will allow each person to make their own decisions on what must to be done to reduce the risk of global warming. 3. Encourage the development of a community that is determined to preserve, conserve, restore and improve our environment. 4. Engage with residents, business owners and community groups, including our schools, to provide reliable information about our understanding of the consequences of carbon emissions and the positive changes we can all make. 5. Encourage children in the community to believe that 'you are never too small to make a difference', and to support them in their activities to act upon issues of climate change that are important to them. 6. Establish a website platform to examine and discuss environmental issues including climate change in a constructive way, that will allow each person to make their own decisions about what must to be done to reduce the risk of global warming and how they might reduce or reconcile any negative impact. 7. Directly undertake or support zero and/or low carbon projects that will have a positive impact on our environment and particularly those with the potential to relieve those in fuel poverty within our community. and 8. Represent our community on environmental and climate-change issues by engaging with relevant government agencies, non-governmental organisations, and other interest groups, to identify the best available technology and practices and to source support and funding to achieve the purpose and aims of Zero Carbon Daviot.
