4. The organisation's purposes are: The relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage with a view to improving their condition and quality of life and furtherance thereof by: * Providing advocacy, information and other forms of support. * Promoting and encouraging the training and education of people in developing their skills in order to help them improve their situation. * Promoting the understanding and awareness of the rights of the individual, as well as their families and carers where relevant, and. * Encouraging people to involve themselves in all aspects of society and, in particular, in those decisions affecting themselves and their families and carers where relevant through co-operation with the authorities and other agencies.
