The company's objectives are:- (a) To promote any charitable purposes for the benefit of the inhabitants of Shetland and in particular the advancement of education, and furtherance of health and the relief of poverty, distress and sickness. (b)To promote and organise co-operation in the achievement of the above purposes and to that end bring together in Council representatives of the statutory authorities and voluntary organisations engaged in the furtherance of the above purposes or any of them within Shetland. (c)To do all other things as will properly attain the above purposes.
