About The Reindeer Trust
1. To advance animal welfare by promoting and advancing the wellbeing of reindeer herds throughout the world and the prevention of their suffering and illness, to include co-operating and sharing knowledge with other reindeer herders, societies and associations throughout the world. 2. To apply, assist and facilitate the advancement of science, to include leading and/or supporting research in. a) the reindeer breeding cycle, (including the potential for introducing new genetics by artificial insemination or embryonic transfer to isolated reindeer herds throughout the world). and b) the impact of environmental change and climate change on diseases affecting reindeer populations throughout the world. 3. To provide relief to those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage, and to advance education, by delivering outreach projects and accessible reindeer experiences to those in need, in order to disseminate knowledge about the reindeer breed and promote their conservation.
