The Charitable Purposes of the SCIO ('the Charitable Purposes') are: 3.1.1 to advance and promote the education of the general public, and in particular the inhabitants of the Parish of Abernethy, in the heritage, history, genealogy and culture of the locality. 3.1.2 to provide a Museum as a community resource inter alia for the collection, classification and conservation of items of local interest, with assistance from the local community, volunteers, voluntary organisations, local authorities and other bodies as required.
