The purposes of the SCIO are:- (i) to advance and promote education on Jim Clark. including his life, his inspiration and his racing career and achievements, and to educate the general public on the history, development and current practice of motor sports including technology, engineering and design, by arranging and participating in events and producing and issuing literature and publications. (ii) to promote and preserve the history, legacy and heritage of Jim Clark specifically in the town of Duns and in Scotland by acquiring, obtaining and preserving items of memorabilia for public display, and through initiatives, projects and working with third parties. (iii) to support the re-development and running of the Jim Clark Memorial Room public museum in Duns, Scottish Borders by working in partnership with the Scottish Borders Council and their successor, to include fundraising for the museum. and (iv) to promote similar charitable purposes, objects or institutions in such proportions and manner as the Trustees think fit.
