(a) To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the South District of South Uist from Frobost to Glendale (hereinafter referred to as 'the District') without distinction of sex or of political, religious or other opinions, by associating the local authorities, voluntary organisation and inhabitants in common effort to advance education and further the health of the said inhabitants by providing (to advance education and further the health of the said inhabitants by providing) a meeting place and other facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants. (b) To secure the establishment, maintenance and management of a Community Centre (hereinafter called 'the Community Centre') for activities promoted by the Committee in furtherance of the above objects or any of them.
