PURPOSES 4. The Company’s main Purpose is consistent with furthering the achievement of sustainable development. The Company’s Purposes are: To manage community land and associated assets and amenities for the benefit of the Community and the public in general as an important part of the protection and sustainable development of Scotland’s natural environment, where ‘sustainable development’ means development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. 4.1.1 To provide or advance the accessibility of recreational facilities, and/or organising recreational activities, which will be available to members of the Community and public at large with the object of improving the conditions of life of the Community. The provision or assistance in the provision of recreational facilities for the public at large and/or those who, by reasons of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, poverty or social and economic circumstances, have need of such facilities. The maintenance, improvement or provision of public amenities. The advancement of education, training or retraining, particularly amongst unemployed people, and providing unemployed people with work experience. The creation of training and employment opportunities by the provision of workspace, buildings and/or land for use on favourable terms. To advance the education of the Community about its environment, culture and/or history. 4.1.4 Preservation and conservation of the natural and built environment To advance environmental protection or improvement, including preservation, sustainable development and conservation of the natural environment,. The maintenance, improvement or provision of environmental amenities for the Community and/or the preservation of buildings or sites of architectural, historic or other importance to the Community.
