(a) The encouragament of breeding Shetland sheep, their improvement by selection, the maintenance of the purity of the breed, and increased facilities of inter-change of sires. (b) The establishment and publication of a Flock Book of recognised and pure bred sires which have been used or ewes which have been bred from, the annual registration of the pedigrees of such sheep as are approved to the satisfaction of the Trustees to be eligible for entry and the recording of transactions of sale and purchase of rams or ewes by owners of pure bred Shetland sheep. (c) The encouragement of production of a cross sheep bred from Cheviot rams and Shetland ewes, the maintenance of the quality of such a cross breed, and increased facilities for inter-change of sires. (d) The recording and publication in a Flock Book of recognised and pure bred Cheviot sires which have been used or pure bred Shetland ewes which have been bred from, the annual registration of the pedigrees of such sheep as are approved to the satisfaction of the Trustees to be eligible for entry and the recording of transactions of sale and purchase of such rams or ewes. (e) The annual publication of a statement of transactions of the Trustees and periodic compilation and publication of such other general information relating to the breeds as the Trustees may think fit. (f) The arrangements with the Agricultural Societies for classes and a donation or augmentation of prizes in approved Districts, and the appointment or recognition of judges at the shows concerned. (g) The investigation of cases of doubtful and suspected pedigrees. (h) The undertaking of arbitration upon, and settlement of disputes and questions relating to or connected with Shetland sheep, and the breeding thereof and for other subsidiary purposes. (i) To provide facilities for the holding and conducting of meetings for the objects or work of the Trust.
