4 The organisation has been formed to protect and celebrate Common Good assets within the locale and encourage transparency and community engagement of that asset portfolio by the councillors and officials of the local authority. The organisation’s purposes are to promote: 4.1 The advancement of environmental protection through encouraging biodiversity and the adoption of low-carbon technologies and renewable energy sources on Common Good land & buildings. 4.2 The advancement of citizenship/community development through improving awareness of, management of and promotion of the Common Good as a uniquely Scottish approach to community asset ownership, fostering public engagement with those responsible for the care and management of theof Common Good portfolios and involving community groups in the recognition & celebration of Common Good assets. 4.3 The advancement of heritage through the recording, protection and preservation of historical assets within the Common Good portfolio
