1) to provide community contact with people living in the Montrose area who are suffering isolation and loneliness, to support their social activities without distinction of political, religious and other opinions and to provide support to those people, improve their well-being, thus empower them to be participants in their community, according to each individual's abilities and wishes. and 2) To provide community contact for adults, identified as in need of befriending support on a flexible timescale relevant to individual requirements (all people within the groups defined above and to whom a service is provided by the Befriending Service being hereinafter called 'Friends' or, in singular, 'a Friend'):
