The SCIO is established exclusively for charitable purposes and shall operate for the public benefit. Its purposes are: 3.1 Advancement of Education To advance education by providing high-quality instruction, training and learning opportunities in Irish dance, Irish music and associated Irish cultural traditions for children, young people and adults. 3.2 Advancement of Arts, Heritage and Culture To preserve, promote and develop Irish dance, music and cultural heritage through classes, performances, workshops, exhibitions, festivals and educational programmes. 3.3 Relief of Financial Hardship Where resources allow, to provide bursaries, grants or subsidised access to educational activities for individuals or families who would otherwise be unable to participate because of financial hardship.
