The Association has been established for the relief and protection and promotion of men from the Lislea and surrounding area (hereinafter called ‘the area of benefit’), without distinction of age, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion, by associating with statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort for the advancement and promotion of men’s health and wellbeing issues among the general public, and in particular: a) To foster an atmosphere of mutual support and encouragement among men, and to encourage them to provide mutual support and encouragement to each other b) To co-operate with all interested parties in providing opportunities for friendship and socialising in a safe environment while at the same time the space, expertise and facilities for men to pursue hobbies, crafts and creativity c) To encourage men to become part of the Men’s shed in order to break down isolation d) To plan for the continued development of the group, and ensure that all members have a role to play The advancement of health or the saving of lives
