4. The association’s purposes are: The promotion for the benefit of the public of rural regeneration in areas of social and economic deprivation (and in particular in the Royal Burgh of New Galloway and Kells Parish, Dumfries and Galloway) by any of the following means a. The advancement of citizenship and community development within the Royal Burgh of New Galloway and Kells Parish, including the advancement of rural regeneration through community-led initiatives, facilities, activities and services which promote social, economic and environmental wellbeing[JM1.1] b. The maintenance, improvement or provision of public amenities and facilities in the Royal Burgh of New Galloway and Kells c. The provision of recreational facilities for the public at large or those who by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances, have need of such facilities d. The preservation of buildings in the area which are of historic or architectural importance, especially the New Galloway Town Hall.
