The Association is established so as to promote the benefit and positive development of the people of Lettershandoney and its rural hinterland or district (hereinafter described as 'the area') without any distinction being made for age, sex, race, political or religious opinion or other beliefs or characteristics. The aims of the Association include the alleviation of poverty, promotion of good relations, and promoting the development of the local community. To this end, the Association will associate with local authorities, voluntary organisations and the inhabitants of the area to improve the environment, facilities and other matters in the interests of social welfare, advance education and opportunities and to work towards the amelioration of conditions of life.
